Barbara Ellen Stanton (nee Chapman), 51, a resident of Glen Burnie, MD, died on August 30, 2009 at home, after losing her battle with cancer.

She was born on January 12, 1958 in Baltimore, MD and raised in Glen Burnie, MD.

Mrs. Stanton was a homemaker. She was an avid reader and baker, enjoyed spending time with her granddaughter and shopping with her daughters.

Mrs. Stanton was preceded in death by her late father, Merwin Chapman and late brother, David W. Chapman.

She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Robert G. Stanton of Glen Burnie, MD; two daughters, Gina M. Stanton of Glen Burnie, MD and Michele E. Stanton of Glen Burnie; future son-in-law, Tom Hamlin of Glen Burnie, MD; granddaughter, Natalie M. Hamlin of Glen Burnie, MD; mother, Lillian Chapman; two sisters, Deb Smith of Rockville, MD and Jill Wamsley of Glen Burnie, MD; sister-in-law, Deb Chapman of Severn, MD; and many nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, September 02, 2009 at 1:00 pm at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Gov. Ritchie Hwy in Severna Park, MD. Interment will be private.
