Barbara Kimmey Pierce, 64, of Annapolis, died of cancer April 24 at Anne Arundel Medical Center after a lengthy illness.
Mrs. Pierce was born Nov. 20, 1939, in Milford, Del., where she graduated from Milford High School in 1957. She completed nurse's training at Wilmington General Hospital in Wilmington, Del., in 1960.
She was a practicing registered nurse in Delaware, Texas and Maryland, working for several years at Anne Arundel Medical Center.
She was a member of St. Andrew by the Bay Catholic Church, and enjoyed travel and genealogy.
Surviving are her husband of 43 years, Christopher Pierce; two sons, Christopher Pierce II of Richmond, Va., and Michael Pierce of Virginia Beach, Va.; one daughter, Karen Pierce-Blandamer of Pasadena; and six grandchildren.
She was the mother of the late John Pierce.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway. A funeral Mass will be offered at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Andrew by the Bay Catholic Church, 701 College Parkway. Burial will be at a later date in Oddfellows Cemetery in Milford, Del.
Memorial contributions, in lieu of flowers, can be made to St. Gertrude Monastery, 14259 Benedictine Lane, Ridgely, MD 21660.
