Barbara Antoinette Dement, age 70, passed away unexpectedly on April 26, 2023, in Kingston, Jamaica, after a tragic, unforeseen illness.

Barb was born in Maryland on September 5, 1952, and is predeceased by her parents Arthur J. and Dolores A. Robson, SR, and brothers ARTHUR John Robson, JR and Timothy Robson.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Robert M. Dement, Sr.; THEIR 3 children Robert M. Dement, Jr., John D. Dement (Jill), and Angela K. Dement; siblings Kenneth Robson (Gigi), Lynda Powell, and Janet Irvin (James); grandsons Hunter, Aiden, Joshua, and Brady Dement; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Barb graduated from High Point High School, in Beltsville, MD, in 1970. She married the love of her life, Mark, that same year and spent a lifetime as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her professional accomplishments included positions as a bank administrator, bookkeeper, sole proprietor, property manager and community volunteer.

She enjoyed every moment of her life, captivating people with her infectious smile and warm, friendly, compassionate personality. She made lifelong friends wherever she went and will be remembered as incredibly kind and caring.

Barb lived her life to the fullest, never wasting a minute. She was at her happiest making memories with her family. She loved spending time at the beach, from family vacations to over 30 years of traveling with Mark to their favorite place, Jamaica.

She will be missed.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Barbara's life on Saturday, May 6, 2023 from 2pm to 4pm at the Barranco Severna Park Funeral Home & Cremation Care, P.A., 495 Ritchie Highway, Severna Park, MD 21146. Guests are encouraged to wear resort casual attire.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you plant a flower in your home or garden as a way to remember her and the light she brought to those around her.
