Barbara Louise Davis (Lane), 84, a resident of Charlestown in Catonsville, Maryland died peacefully on September 7, 2015 surrounded by family at St. Agnes Hospital. Barbara was born and raised in Yonkers, New York then moved to Long Island after marrying her beloved husband. They spent eighteen years in Edison, New Jersey where they raised their family, then settled in Severna Park, Maryland for 28 years before moving to Charlestown in 2010.

Barbara loved working with children. After earning a Bachelor of Arts degree from Hunter College in 1954, she taught second grade at Public School 27 in New York. During her years in New Jersey and Maryland, she continued her passion as a loving, caring educator working in pre-schools.

Barbara was an active member of Severna Park United Methodist Church for 32 years, serving on various committees as well as participating in mission projects and Bible studies. She was an avid reader, enjoyed crossword puzzles, sewing, cooking, watching sports, playing bridge, and Bingo. She had a great sense of humor and was known for her wealth of knowledge, impressing everyone with her ability to answer every Jeopardy question on TV. Her biggest love was her family. She cherished spending time with her children and grandchildren, especially at their yearly vacation at Deep Creek Lake, Maryland.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Kenneth Wilson Davis, her brothers and their spouses, Richard and Phyllis Lane of Erie, Pennsylvania, and John Robert and Edythe Randall of Toms River, New Jersey, and her daughter in-law, Barbara Lynn Davis of Manassas, Virginia. Survivors include son Scott Davis of Manassas, Virginia, two daughters, Sandra O'Donnell and husband Kevin of Halethorpe, Maryland, Jacqueline Dickinson and husband Richard of Medford, New Jersey, and six grandchildren: Kevin and Michele Davis; Kelley, Kimberley, and Bryan Dickinson; and Matthew O'Donnell.

A Memorial Visitation will be held on Friday September 11, 2015 from 2-4 & 6-8:00pm at the Barranco & Sons Severna Park Funeral Home 495 Ritchie Hwy. Severna Park, MD 21146. A Memorial service will be held on Saturday September 12, 2015 at 11:00am in the Severna Park United Methodist Church 731 Benfield Rd Severna Park, MD 21146.
