Austin Robert Hardesty, 68, a resident of Walkersville, WV died on January 19, 2010 in Walkersville, WV due to cancer.

He was born on November 17, 1941 in Baltimore, MD, raised in Hanover, MD and previously lived in Baltimore, MD. He attended Arundel High School.

Mr. Hardesty served in the U.S. Navy from 1960-1962. He was formerly employed with Nu-Car Carriers and retired from Leaseway Motor Car and was a member of Teamsters Local 557.

He enjoyed horse racing, hunting, and fishing.

He was preceded in death by his late sister, Catherine Hardesty, his late brother, James Lowman, and his late granddaughter, Brittany Facemyer.

He is survived by his wife, Linda L. Hardesty of Walkersville, WV; his daughters, Deborah L. Hicks of Lakehills, TX and Sandra Miller of Walkersville, WV; his sons, Robert W. Hardesty of Hanover, MD and David H. Hardesty of Brooklyn Park, MD; thirteen grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Family and friends may visit on Thursday, January 21, 2010 from 3-5 PM and 7-9 PM at
Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Gov. Ritchie Hwy in Severna Park. A Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, January 22, 2010 at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow in Glen Haven Memorial Park in Glen Burnie, MD.
