Aurelia J. Grindrod (nee Kaufhold), 88, of Severna Park, MD, died July 18, 2010. Aurelia was born and lived much of her life in Cincinnati with her husband of 64 years, F. Raymond Grindrod, who preceded her in death in 2005. She raised her family beginning in Cincinnati, OH, moving to Severna Park, MD in 1963, and retired to Florida in 1978. She and Ray returned to their hometown of Cincinnati in 1987. In 2005, Aurelia moved to Severna Park where she spent her final years near family and enjoying many friendships at Sunrise Independent Living. She was preceded in death by one grandson, Christopher Strader, and seven sisters.
Aurelia was active in all parishes where she was a member. As a current and former longtime parishioner of St. John the Evangelist Church, she enjoyed singing in the choir. Aurelia was a very gifted self-taught artist, an accomplished seamstress, who enjoyed cooking, gardening, reading and singing. Mostly, Aurelia was a devoted wife, mother and friend who touched the lives of many.

Aurelia was the loving mother of six children, Raymond J. (Cathie) of Tryon NC, Peggy A. Strader (Lewis) of Annapolis, MD, Mary Jo Anderson (Barrett) of Annapolis, MD, Karen M. Wilson (Robert) of Wonder Lake, IL, Dale E. (Monica) of Salinas, CA and Carolyn S. Renz (Luke) of Annapolis, MD; grandmother of Lisa and Jeff Grindrod, Barrett Anderson, Jr., Laura Burroughs, Kevin Crane, Mathew Wilson, Kelly Renz and Christopher Grindrod, April and Lindsey Covell, great grandmother of Nicholas, Christina, Jeremy and Allison Burroughs, Marlee and Jason Grindrod, great-great grandmother of Timothy Burke. Aurelia is survived by one sister, Virginia Myers of Corinth, KY, and many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday, July 23, 2010 at 10 AM at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 689 Ritchie Highway, Severna Park, MD 21146. Interment is private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Osteoporosis Foundation, 1150 17th Street, NW, Suite 850, Washington, DC 20036.
