Arthur Wilson Moxley
Arthur Wilson Moxley, 90, a resident of Arnold, MD for over 55 years, died of natural causes at Mandarin Chesapeake Hospice House in Harwood, MD on February 22, 2008.
Born in Baltimore, MD on June 30, 1917, Mr. Moxley was raised in Baltimore where he graduated from Polytechnical Institute in 1935. He served in the U.S. Army during WW II and was stationed in Germany. He retired as a foreman in 1978 from C&P Telephone Company in Baltimore where he worked for over 40 years.
He was a charter member of Bay Hills Golf Club in Arnold. He was a member of The Broadneck Elks Lodge, The Masons, Telephone Pioneers Association, American Legion Post 175, and The Magothy Golf Association. He enjoyed spending time with his family, reading, music, travel, and puzzles. He was an avid golfer.
Mr. Moxley was preceded in death by his wife Emma Jean (Cogar) Moxley in 1980 and his brother, Charles W. Moxley, Sr. who died in 2008. He is survived by one son, Ronald C. Moxley of Dunkirk, MD; two daughters, Pat Fitzgerald of Owens, MD and Becky Hoppa of Arnold, MD; longtime companion, Faith Wiley of Reisterstown, MD; six grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Friends my call at Barranco & Sons, P. A. Severna Park Funeral Home on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8pm. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 11:00am. Interment will follow at Glen Haven Memorial Park in Glen Burnie, MD. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of the Chesapeake 445 Defense Highway Annapolis, MD 21401.
