Arlene Marie McGunigale, 79, a resident of Severna Park, died on May 26, 2014 at her home.

She was born on November 1, 1934 in Johnstown, PA, where she was raised, and graduated from Johnstown High School. She previously lived in Lanham before residing in Severna Park.

Arlene was a secretary for the Government Printing Office for 20 years and was a receptionist for H & R Block for 16 years.

She enjoyed traveling, cruises, and bus trips. She loved her family and they always came first. She was very active at the Severna Park Baptist Church and she volunteered at the Baltimore Washington Medical Center. Her faith was very important to her and she loved to sing hymns and read Christian novels.

She is survived by her loving husband, Richard, of 60 years. She was a loving mother to five sons: Rick (Kathleen), Tom (Nadine), David (Paula), Mike (Linda) and Dan (Linda). She was a loving sister to Peggy Hughes and her husband Larry. Arlene was a cherished Grandmother to 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Family and friends may visit on Thursday, May 29, 2014 from 3-5 pm and 7-9 pm at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Hwy, in Severna Park. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, May 30th at 10:00 am at Severna Park Baptist Church, 506 Benfield Road, Severna Park, MD.
