Antoinette Garvey
Antoinette M. Tucci Garvey, 92, a resident of Severna Park for more than 21 years, died of natural causes Nov. 9 at the Severna Park Center, Genesis Health Care, after a yearlong illness.
Born Oct. 26, 1915, and reared in Pottsville, Pa., Mrs. Garvey was married in 1943 to Robert F. Garvey who died in 1972. She traveled and lived throughout the United States due to her husband's military career.
In addition to being a homemaker, she was a hairdresser and manager of a hair salon in the Pottsville community in her earlier years. From 1960 to 1986 she lived in Hillcrest Heights and then came to Severna Park where she was an active member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.
Surviving are three daughters, Kathleen Wilson of Severna Park, Mary Sonnenschein of Olney and Andrea Ferguson of Bristol, Va.; one sister, Celeste Matino of Las Vegas, Nev.; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandsons. Her son, William H. Garvey, died in 1975.
A funeral Mass will be offered at 10 a.m. Monday at St. John's Catholic Church, 689 Ritchie Highway, Severna Park. Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
