Anthony J. Fatz, 90, of Severna Park, MD, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 13, 2025.

Anthony (Tony) was born on February 19, 1935, in Shamokin, PA, son of the late Anthony and Verna Fatz.

Tony proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, then set roots in Maryland. On New Years Eve, 1956, he married the love of his life, Mary.

Preceding him in death was his loving wife, Mary. Tony is survived by his daughter, Mary K. VanHorn, and son, Tony Fatz (wife Christine). He was a proud grandfather to Kaitlin VanHorn (Ryan Fox), Colleen VanHorn, Ashley, Jennifer, Erica, and Christopher. Tony was blessed to become a great-grandfather to Emilia, Miles, and Rowan Anthony Fox.

Tony enjoyed sports and watching his favorite teams, the Ravens and Orioles. When he lived in Maryland City, he was involved in organizing and coaching the youth sports programs and refereeing basketball games.

He dedicated a lot of his time to the organization and took pride in its success. He was always the proud father watching his own children participate in their sporting events, and later the proud grandfather watching granddaughters, Kaitlin and Colleen.

Tony was most proud of his family, and he worked very hard to be a great provider. After retiring from the Federal Government, he and Mary enjoyed some local travel but mostly enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Tony was happiest at home with wife Mary, and he loved having family and friends stop by for visits. He was blessed to spend a lot of quality time with granddaughters, Kaitlin and Colleen, building cherished memories.

We love you, we will miss you, and you will forever be in our hearts.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, July 1, 2025 at 2:30pm at  the Maryland Veteran Cemetery in Crownsville, 1122 Sunrise Beach Rd, Crownsville, MD 21032.
