Anne Bateman Quirk Haugh, 97 of Cape St. Claire, MD passed away in her sleep on December 30, 2021. She was the wife of Roy E. Haugh who passed away in 2018. She is survived by her daughters, Judith Anne Haugh, Rory Anne Haugh Smith, her son-in-law Michael Smith, grandson Ryan M. Smith, nieces and many nephews.
Anne was born in Manhattan, NY on January 19, 1924. She was the daughter of Beatrice R. Bateman (Quirk) and Joseph M. Quirk and the sister of Joseph B. Quirk who are all deceased.
Anne was an English major at Hunter College NYC and an executive secretary for Alcan in the British Empire Building in Rockefeller Center and Alaska Airlines in NYC. She was also employed by the USAF as a civilian in Colorado Springs, CO. With a husband in the USAF, she lived all across the USA from NY to CA as a homemaker.
Anne was a long-time member of St. Margaret's Westminster Parish in Annapolis, MD. She was a member and past president of St. Margret's Womens Guild and served on the vestry of All Saints Episcopal Church in Oxnard, CA. Anne loved dogs, being a Girl Scout leader, a Sunday school teacher, collecting stamps, Wedgewood and growing cymbidium orchids and bonsai.
Family and friends may visit on Sunday, January 9, 2022, from 2-4pm at Barranco Severna Park Funeral Home & Cremation Care, P.A. 495 Ritchie Highway Severna Park, MD 21146. A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 10, 2022, at 1pm at St. Margaret's Church, 1601 Pleasant Plains Rd., Annapolis, MD. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
