Anne "Nancy" Gibson Kumm
(June 22, 1931 – August 20, 2013)
Mrs. Anne Katharine (Gibson) Kumm, a resident of Severna Park since 1965, passed away peacefully on August 20, 2013 surrounded by her family.
She was born in Chevy Chase, Maryland in 1931 and attended Holton Arms School in Washington, DC. While a student there she also served as yearbook photographer. She later attended Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History in 1953. A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, she was active in her community and church, including many years as a troop leader in the Girl Scouts of America. An accomplished seamstress, knitter, and cook, her greatest joy was holidays with her family. She also served as Corporate Secretary and a Board Member for her husband's energy consulting firm.
Mrs. Kumm is survived by her husband of over 60 years, William Howard Kumm; brother John D.S. Gibson; son John Henry Kumm; daughters Elizabeth Anne Kumm and Katharine Lucy (Kumm) Anderson; and four grandchildren.
A memorial service, followed by interment in the memorial garden, will be held on Saturday September 7th at 11 am at St. Martin's-in-the-Field Episcopal Church at 375 Benfield Road, Severna Park, Maryland 21146. The service will be followed by a reception at the church.
