Anna Mae Vermillion, born on February 17, 1927, passed away peacefully on February 15, 2025, just 2 days shy of her 98th birthday. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, to Henry and Lillian Listman, she lived in Pasadena, Maryland for more than 90 years. Growing up with an older sister and 3 younger brothers, she forever valued their close-knit family. As a teenager she treasured caring for her younger brothers as her mother worked. Graduating from Glen Burnie High School in 1945 lead to her positions at Montgomery Wards, Westing House, and Coppers Company. Working filled her days, until she became a mother. She married Vernon M. Vermillion Sr. on July 19, 1947. Vernon and Anna celebrated 52 years of marriage until his passing after a brief illness on August 8, 1999.
She enjoyed reading, mowing the lawn, visiting with friends and family, making her famous macaroni salad and rum cakes for her family and keeping her house.
She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Munson, granddaughter Jessica Mounkid, grandson Jay Munson, her son Vernon M. Vermillion Jr., his wife Sarah, grandson Brandon Vermillion, his wife Vanessa, and grandson Tyler Vermillion. She was blessed with 2 great granddaughters: Teagan Vermillion and Senaa Mounkid. She is also survived by her youngest brother Charles Listman, loving friends, many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may visit on Thursday, February 27, 2025 from 4 pm to 7 pm at Barranco Severna Park Funeral Home & Cremation Care, P.A., 495 Ritchie Hwy, Severna Park, MD 21146.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 28, 2025 at 10:30 am in the funeral home.
Interment will follow at Glen Haven Memorial Park in Glen Burnie.
