Anna Louise Bertha, 87, a longtime resident of Arnold, died on April 2, 2013 at Baltimore Washington Medical Center in Glen Burnie, MD.


Anna was born in Baltimore on May 15, 1925 and raised in Locust Point. She later married Stephen Bertha and moved to the home they built in Arnold. Anna was employed in the soap plant at Proctor and Gamble in Baltimore.


Mrs. Bertha was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church in Severna Park. In her earlier years she enjoyed shopping, traveling, and bowling.


She is survived by her granddaughters, Laura Bowdring of Alexandria, VA and Aimee McClellan of St. Agatha, ME; her great-grandsons, Nathan and Colin Bowdring of Alexandria, VA; her son-in-law, Joseph McCahill of Arnold; and her grandson-in-law, Bill Bowdring of Alexandria, VA.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Stephen Bertha; her daughter, Catherine McCahill; and her brother, John McDonald.


Family and friends are invited to visit from 2-4 and 6-8 pm on Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at the Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Hwy. Severna Park, MD 21146. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 10:00 am with the interment to follow at Glen Haven Memorial Park in Glen Burnie.
