Ann Virginia Rasmussen, 83, a resident of Severna Park since 1970, died on July 20, 2013 at her home, after a one month illness.
She was born on September 30, 1929 in New Philadelphia, PA, was raised in Pottsville, PA, and graduated from Temple University School of Nursing.
Ann Virginia was a registered nurse and worked as a billing manager for Associates in Pathology at the University of Maryland Hospital with her husband Dr. Peter Rasmussen.
She was a member of Severna Park Republican Women's Club and Republican Women of Anne Arundel County, Friends of AA County Trails, and Past President of Women's Auxiliary of University of Maryland Hospital.
Ann Virginia enjoyed sewing, quilting, bird watching, and spending time with her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Peter Rasmussen and her brother, John H. Brachman.
She is survived by two sons, Peter Rasmussen, Jr. and David Rasmussen, both of Severna Park; two daughters, Joan Rasmussen Stuart (John) of Unionville, PA and Lorraine Rasmussen Heibel (Tim) of Annapolis; and four grandchildren, Corrinne Alexandra Stuart, Griffin Gerard Heibel, Carley MeLei Stuart, and Cooper Henry Heibel.
A Memorial Visitation will be held at Barranco & Sons Funeral Home on Saturday, September 14th from 2-4pm.
Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the SPCA of Anne Arundel County, 1815 Bay Ridge Avenue, Annapolis, MD 21403 and/or to Friends of AA County Trails, P.O. Box 464, Severna Park, MD 21146.
