Ann Eubank, 97, a resident of Sunrise in Severna Park for 12 years, died peacefully on August 21, 2009.
Ann was born on June 11, 1912 in Scranton, PA. Previous residences included Washington, D.C., Greenbelt and Berwyn Heights, MD.
Prior to meeting her husband, while biking at Hains Point in Wash., D.C., Ann operated her own beauty shop in PA and did secretarial work in DC during WWII.
Ann was a lifelong avid gardener growing vegetables and beautiful flowers, specializing in azaleas, peonies, and primroses. She enjoyed knitting and needlepoint. She traveled with her late husband, Carl. She enjoyed time spent in Paris as Carl served as a court reporter at the Paris Peace Talks. She and Carl also enjoyed time spent in Florida with her sister, Mary, and late brother in law, Lad Alexander.
Ann is survived by her son Gerald "Gerry" Eubank, and daughter in law, Lin Irey of Severna Park. Lin was always affectionately referred to by Ann as "my daughter". Ann had a sweet and gentle nature and was loved by family and friends. In Ann's later years she experienced severe visual difficulties which did not daunt her positive spirit. Ann is also survived by her son, Paul, who resides in St. Inigoes, MD. She is further survived by her sister, Mary, who kept in constant, close touch with Ann and lovingly provided her sister with specially chosen outfits. Ann is also survived by dear nieces, Flo Muller and Lorraine Elder.
The interment will take place at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Chesapeake, 445 Defense Highway, Annapolis, MD 21401 or Anne Arundel Medical Center, SOS Program, 2001 Medical Pkwy., Annapolis, MD 21401.
