Ann Chapin

Ann Vasile Chapin, 76, of Annapolis, died of cancer Sept. 15 at Chesapeake Hospice House in Linthicum.

Mrs. Chapin was born May 3, 1928, in Farrell, Pa., where she graduated from high school in 1946. She moved to the Westview area of Baltimore County in 1958 and Cape St. Claire in 1969.

She worked for Westinghouse Corp. for a brief time before deciding to stay home and rear her children.

Among her interests were gardening and yardwork.

Her husband, William H. Chapin, died Sept. 22, 1991. She was the sister of Rose Marie Esposito who died in 2002.

Surviving are one son, William Scott Chapin of Annapolis; one daughter, Kimberly Ann Whinnery of El Cajon, Calif.; one brother, Richard Vasile of Youngstown, Ohio; one sister, Stella Cipriano of Hermitage, Pa.; and two grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Cape St. Claire United Methodist Church, 855 Chestnut Tree Drive in Annapolis. Burial will be private. Arrangements are by Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home.
