Anita Marie Murray, 94 years old, from Arnold MD, passed away peacefully on Friday May 20, 2022 at home with her husband of 74 years by her side, She was born August 23, 1927 in Hollis, NY to John and Marion Soldo. Anita attended Queens College in Flushing, NY graduating with a Master's Degree in Education. She taught in the Suffolk County, NY School system until 1965 when the family moved to Arnold, MD. Anita continued with her career in Maryland, teaching at Folger McKinsey Elementary School, Old Mill High School, and as Vice-Principal at Jessup Elementary School before finishing her dedicated public service as Principal of Severna Park Elementary School. In addition to teaching, Anita loved the water and volunteered with her husband for 30 years as a member of the United States Coast Guard Auxillary.

Anita is survived by her husband, Arthur Murray, and two of her three sons, Richard Murray and Robert Murray, three grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her first son, Arthur (Randy) Murray.

A service will be held on June 1, 2022 at Pinelawn Cemetery, Farmingdale, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Alzheimer's Foundation of America ( https://alzfdn.org ).
