Anita Bauer
Anita Marie Bauer, 86, a resident of Severna Park since 1979, died of natural causes April 14 at Riderwood Village in Silver Spring after a brief illness.
Born May 18, 1918, in the Bronx, N.Y., where she was reared, Mrs. Bauer lived in Washington, D.C., for 38 years before moving to Severna Park.
A homemaker, she enjoyed sewing, dancing and entertaining.
She was a member of the Reserve Officers' Wives Club, Our Shepherd Lutheran Church in Severna Park, where she was chairman of the Altar Committee and St. James Lutheran Church in Silver Spring. She was president of the Lutheran Women's Club and taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School.
Valentine P. Bauer, her husband of 60 years, died June 24, 2001.
Surviving are one son, Dr. Valentine Richard Bauer of Arnold; two daughters, Anita K. Kraft of Brinklow in Montgomery County and Joyce Kent of Harrisburg, Pa.; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday at Our Shepherd Lutheran Church in Severna Park, where funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Burial is private.
Memorial contributions, in lieu of flowers, may be made to Our Shepherd Lutheran Church, 400 Benfield Road, Severna Park, MD 21146.
