Angela B. Hampe, 83, of Stevensville, died of natural causes Sept. 14 at The Pines Genesis ElderCare in Easton.
Born Oct. 19, 1921, in Linthicum, and reared in Baltimore, Mrs. Hampe also had lived in Severna Park. She graduated from Eastern High School in Baltimore in 1941 and attended the Peabody Conservatory.
Mrs. Hampe worked as a permanent substitute in the Anne Arundel County school system and retired from the State Department of Legislative Reference, where she worked as a proofreader.
She was a charter member of the Harundale Presbyterian Church and a past president of the Severna Park Ladies of the Elks.
Among her interests were travel and singing, including being a soloist in the church choir.
Surviving are her husband, Walter R. Hampe; three sons, W. Robert Hampe of Port Tobacco, Mike Hampe of Cape St. Claire and Matt Hampe of Middletown, Del.; two daughters, Judy Vasquez of Odenton and Edie LeBrun of Stevensville; two brothers, William Bavis of Silver Spring, and Charles Bavis of Linthicum; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today and Friday at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway in Severna Park, where funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. Burial will follow in Glen Haven Memorial Park in Glen Burnie.
