Angela B. Ay (nee Brown), born May 3, 1920 died peacefully January 20, 2019 at the age of 98. She was predeceased by her parents Timothy Brown and Nellie Brown (raised by Anne G. Brown after the death of her mother in 1932), and her siblings, Edward Brown, Robert Brown, Elmer Brown, Regina Link, James Brown, and Leonard Brown. She is predeceased by Richard L. Ay, her husband of 58 years. She is survived by her three sons and nine grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, and 1 step great-grandchild; Richard L. Ay Jr., (and spouse Adriana), children; Nicole Motz (Paul), Richard lll, and Mark; Timothy E. Ay, (and spouse Joann), children; Christopher, Courtney, and Jennifer, step children; Janeen Leffler and Ian Elliot, step great-grandchild Michael Vickers; and John M. Ay, Sr. (and spouse Maribel), children; John Michael, Jr., Gian-Carlo, and Jean-Paul.
She was a faithful member of St. Andrew by the Bay Parish in Annapolis. She served in the Coast Guard Auxiliary during World War II, and enjoyed a career with Capital Airlines before marriage and became a full time homemaker. Angela was very active all throughout her life. She served as a docent for many years at the William Paca House in Annapolis, and practiced Tai-Chi until the age of 95; even earning an Honorary Black Sash in Tai Chi and the age of 96. She was a two time survivor of breast cancer and lived life to the fullest.
Viewing will be at the Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Hwy, Severna Park on Sunday, January 27 th from 2:00 pm-4:00 pm and from 6:00 pm-8:00 pm. There will be a funeral Mass at St John Neumann Church, 620 Bestgate Rd, Annapolis on Monday, January 28 th at 10:30 am. Interment of her ashes will be a private ceremony for immediate family on Wednesday, January 30 th at 10:30 am.
