Andrew Louis Watkins, Jr., 81, a longtime resident of Arnold, died suddenly of respiratory failure, on April 20, 2010, at Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis.
He was born on May 13, 1928 in Baltimore and was raised in Arnold, where he lived most of his life.
Mr. Watkins served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a Sheet Metal Mechanic at U.S.N.A. for 36 years, then at W.W. Wenger for 14 years.
He enjoyed riding his motor scooter, fishing, camping, and eating at Wendy's.
He was preceded in death by his late parents, Dolores and Andrew Louis Watkins, Sr.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Ruth A. Watkins (nee Cooper) of Arnold; his children, Scott Watkins of Severna Park, Lynn Morgan of Arnold, Mary Jo Glover of Arnold, and David Watkins of Severna Park; and his five grandchildren, Lauren, Keith, Allison, William, and Ryan.
Family and friends may visit on Wednesday, April 21, 2010 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Gov. Ritchie Hwy in Severna Park. A Funeral Service will be on Thursday, April 22 at 12:30 pm at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Glen Haven Memorial Park in Glen Burnie.
