Amy Angell Hunt, loving wife and mother, homemaker, volunteer, and long-time Severna Park resident, died peacefully with her family surrounding her on April 30, 2007. The cause of death was complications from Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma.She was born December 2, 1927 in Roanoke, Virginia, the daughter of Amy (nee North)and Herman Glenn. Her father was a Roanoke businessman who operatedGlenn Minnich, the largest men's clothing store in southwestern Virginia. She and her identical twin sister, Bettye Glenn, graduated from Roanoke College with majors in English. Amy went on to work at the WSLS Radio station where she was one of the first woman talk-show hosts, winning the Award for Excellence from the Virginia Associated Press.While living in Roanoke, Mrs. Hunt was involved in amateur theater for many years. She was a member of the Severna Park United Methodist Church and was an active participant in the Saints and Sinners Club. She also enjoyed teaching Sunday school. She was the Treasurer of the Mercy Medical Center Auxiliary for more than two decades, and a sixty-year-long member of the Junior League. She was an active member of The Questers, an antiques enthusiast group. In 1955, she married Franklyn L. Angell, MD, a Roanoke pediatrician. Dr. Angell left his pediatric practice to become a radiologist and served on the faculty of Harvard Medical School before becoming Chairman of the Radiology Department at Mercy Medical Center in Baltimore and associate professor of radiology at the University of Maryland Medical School. At the time of his death in January 1988 he was President-Elect of the American College of Radiology.In 1993, Amy married Dr. Thomas E. Hunt, a Baltimore orthopedic surgeon who has served as the President of Baltimore City Medical Society and other medical societies.Survivors include her husband, Thomas E. Hunt, MD; two children, Robert R. Angell or Bethesda and Elizabeth Angell League of Millersville, MD; six stepchildren, Victoria Angell Shivel of Richmond, Mary Ann Kowzan and Angela Ellen Hunt of Timonium, Thomas J. Hunt of Forest Hill,MD , Kathleen Pandolph of Woburn, MA and James C. Hunt of Grantham, NH; fifteen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, H. Allen Glenn of Jacksonville Beach, FL, and one sister, Mrs. LeCompte Deyerle of Roanoke, VA. Her identical twin sister predeceased her in 1996, and her oldest brother died in 1986.

Friends may visit at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8pm. Funeral Services will be held at Severna Park United Methodist Church on Friday at 10am. Interment will take place in Roanoke, Virginia. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Severna Park United Methodist Church., 731 Benfield Road, Severna Park, MD 21146.
