Amelia "Mollie" Metheney, 95, a resident of Severna Park for 58 years, died of natural causes July 8 at Heartlands at Severna Park after a brief illness.
Born Dec. 23, 1911, in Baltimore, Mrs. Metheney was reared in Jessup. She was a homemaker and member of the Severna Park Elks. Her interests included gardening, crocheting and cooking.
Mrs. Metheney was the widow of Hugh "Reds" Metheney, whom she married June 21, 1947; and sister of the late Theodore, Henry, Karl and William Boffen, Alfred Boffen Jr. and Bernadine Rogers.
Surviving are one daughter, Linda J. Metheney Seivert of Severna Park; one stepson, Robert L. Metheney of Miami, Fla.; one sister, Anna Knight of Severna Park; and two grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. tomorrow at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday. Burial will follow in Meadowridge Memorial Park, 7250 Washington Blvd., Elkridge.
