Alma Collins (nee: Dick), 76, a longtime resident of Pasadena, MD passed away on November 17, 2010 at Fairfield Nursing Center in Crownsville after a lengthy illness.

Alma was born to her parents, G. Albin and Emily Elizabeth Dick on August 27, 1934 in Waugh Chapel, MD. Raised in Pasadena, she attended Glen Burnie High School where she was the captain of her cheerleading squad, enjoyed playing high school sports and was a member of the GAA. Prior to her marriage, Alma was a telephone operator for C & P Telephone Company. In addition, she worked for the former Albrecht's Drug Store in Glen Burnie during the late 1940's and the early 1950's. Mrs. Collins was the founder of the Yellow Rosebud Sweeties Luncheon Club. In her earlier years, Alma sang in her church choir, was an active volunteer in her children's schools and was a team mother. A devoted homemaker, she was very giving to her family and friends.

Mrs. Collins was preceded in death by her husband, Charles in 1999; her son, G. Scott Collins in 2006; and her brothers, Lyle Dick and Mike Dick. She is survived by her daughter, Debra L. Freeland (Bob) of Pasadena; her sisters, Virginia Arnold of Pasadena and Violet Terlinski of New Kensington, PA; her brothers, Roy Dick of Pasadena and Greg Dick of Greensboro, MD; her grandson, Stephen Freeland; her great grandchildren, Aiden and Lucy, as well as, her sister-in-laws and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation at the Barranco & Sons, PA Severna Park Funeral Home on Friday, November 19, 2010 from 2-4 and 6-8, where a funeral service will be held at 12 noon on Saturday. Interment will be at Glen Haven Memorial Park. In addition to flowers, memorial contributions are being accepted to Seasons Hospice & Palliative Care of Maryland, Inc. 6934 Aviation Blvd STE N-R Glen Burnie, MD 21061.
