Allen Laforgue Garman, aged 95, nickname "Red", lived in Arnold, MD for 40 years, and previously of Takoma Park, MD died November 17, 2016 at Spring Arbor Assisted Living.
Born August 9, 1921 Served in the US Army in France during WWII.
Worked for C&P Telephone and AT&T until his retirement, after which he enjoyed spending winters on his sailboat in Florida and in particular Key Marathon. Loved golf, sailing, genealogy, history, writing memoirs, playing bridge and listening to Big Band music.
Preceded in death by Eva "Ginger" Garman, whom he married July 9, 1943.
Survived by sons A. Cary Garman of Centreville, MD and Steven Garman of Bushnell, FL,
grandchildren, Allen Westley Garman and Marchele Hills and
great-grandchildren Grace and Hannah Hills, Liam, Colin and Sean Garman.
Also survived by his two siblings Olga Williams of Takoma Park, MD and Hubert Garman of Hendersonville, NC.
