Alice W. Burkhardt

Alice W. Burkhardt, 86, of Arnold, died peacefully in her sleep with family at her side February 5, 2017 in Arnold, Maryland. Friends may visit on Wednesday February 8, 2017 from 2 - 4:00 & 6 - 8:00pm at the Barranco & Sons Funeral Home 495 Ritchie Hwy Severna Park, MD 21146. Services will be held on Thursday February 9, 2017 at 10:00am in the funeral home chapel.  Interment in the Parkwood Cemetery Baltimore, MD.

Alice was born in Baltimore City to Walter S. and Irene E. King on March 09, 1930.  She enjoyed baking, traveling with friends and family, trips with the Arnold and South County Senior Activity Centers and spending time with her family.  She was an outgoing and energetic person who frequently hosted large family gatherings.

Alice is preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Irene; her husband of 50 years Charles E. Burkhardt; 4 brothers, Walter King, Bobby King, Branton King, and David King; and a sister Francis King (Whittington)

Alice is survived by 2 daughters Diane (Charlie) Hoyt of Arnold and Karen Burkhardt (Danny Adams) of Mechanicsville; and 2 sons Ed (Mary) Burkhardt of Winter Park, Florida and Bob (Barbara) Burkhardt of Centreville; 8 grandchildren Vicki (Terry) Ober, Dwayne (Sherri) Hoyt, Bill (Erin) Burkhardt, Amy (Jason) Kosnick, Brian (Nicole) Zimmerman, Travis (Kim) Zimmerman, Patrick (Breah) Rockwell II and Bobby Burkhardt; and 7 great-grandchildren Tyler Souder, Ryan Burkhardt, Zach Zimmerman, Matthew Hoyt, Blake Hoyt, Zoe Zimmerman and Megan Burkhardt.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the Hospice of the Chesapeake and the Palliative Care Center for their support during her final days as well as the many friends and extended family who visited her from near and far.
