Aletris R. Roland, 93, of Arnold, died of natural causes Jan. 9 at the Severna Park Center, Genesis ElderCare Network.
Born May 24, 1911, in Baltimore, Mrs. Roland was raised in the Whitehall area on a farm. She worked as an executive secretary at Westinghouse until retiring in 1975.
Her interests included watching television and needlework, especially cross stitch and crochet.
The widow of Walter Hodges Roland, she is survived by one son, Robert Roland of Arnold; one sister, Mary Lorenz of Linthicum; one brother, Leonard Amos of Timonium; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway. Burial will be private. Contributions may be made to the SPCA of Anne Arundel County, 1815 Bay Ridge Ave., Annapolis, MD 21403.
