Albert Anthony Mrozek was born April 9, 1930 at home on Ann Street in the Fells Point neighborhood of Baltimore, to Joseph and Angela Mrozek. As a toddler, Albert made the front page of the The Baltimore News-Post having survived from a head-first fall off the roof of the house in which he was born. Albert attended Holy Rosary School, and after the family moved to Brooklyn, enrolled at Southern High School where he graduated in 1949. As a high school student, Albert worked a variety of summer jobs along Baltimore's waterfront, including a tugboat deck hand with the Curtis Bay Towing Company and an apprentice at General Shipbuilding and Bethlehem Steel Shipbuilding.
At the outbreak of the Korean War, Mrozek enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in combat with the 330th Communications-Reconnaissance Unit achieving the rank of Corporal. Cpl. Mrozek served his entire tour of duty during the height of the conflict at the front lines observing and reporting on enemy troupe positions. Following the Army, Mrozek enrolled at The University of Baltimore and graduated with a Bachelors of Science degree in Business Administration. He then began a career in Civil Service with the Federal General Service Administration. He worked as Chief Buildings Manager for the sprawling Social Security Headquarters in Woodlawn, MD during a period that saw a large expansion of the buildings and properties. He served an important roll in planning and facilitating President Gerald Ford's visit to Ft. McHenry in 1975. In 1995, Mrozek retired as a civilian executive with the Federal Department of Defense.
Mr. Mrozek married Mary Louise Kujawa at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in 1957 followed by a Honeymoon at Niagara Falls.
