Albert J. Machin, 76, a resident of Severna Park since 1951, died of a stroke March 11 at Baltimore Washington Medical Center in Glen Burnie.
The son of the late Isaac Winfield and Ellen Joan Machin, Mr. Machin was born March 25, 1930, and reared in Baltimore. As a child, he spent summers in Severna Park.
He served in the Army during the Korean War for two years.
He worked in sales for the former Town and Country Sporting Goods in Severna Park and for the former Giant Department Store in Rockville in the sporting goods section.
His interests included boating, fishing, woodworking and gardening. He was a member of the Carrollton Manor Improvement Association.
Surviving are his wife, Sylvia Mary Sappington Machin, whom he married March 24, 1951; one son, Barry David Machin, and one daughter, Carol Anne Moore, both of Severna Park; and two grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Winfield, Alexander, Francis and Ellen Machin and Margaret Fleischer.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. tomorrow at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway, where funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Glen Haven Memorial Park in Glen Burnie.
