Albert C. Homans, 78, of Arnold died on March 16 from ALS. He was the loving and beloved husband of Lois Findlay. Al was born and raised in Cleveland, OH. He earned his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Ohio University, M.S. in Electronics from Air Force Institute of Technology and MBA from Loyola. He served in the U.S. Air Force at Wright-Patterson AFB and Cape Canaveral Air Force Station as a graduate student and missile program manager, retiring as Captain. This seminal experience launched a distinguished 50-year career in aviation engineering and program management. He retired from ARINC after 15 years of managing FAA, NOAA-NWS and NASA programs and services.
Al indulged his lifelong love of cars through many enjoyable hours spent planning, tinkering, driving, volunteering and in the company of fellow classic car aficionados. He obtained his pilot's license while in the USAF. Baseball, running, cycling, hiking, woodworking and extensive travel also brought him much joy and fulfillment.
Al's family meant the world to him. He is survived by his daughter Sherilyn (Eric), sons Jameson (Danielle), John (Heather) and Michael (Sheri), their devoted mother Kathleen Naples (Rick) and grandchildren Aiyana, Aiden, McKenna, Rowan, Hailey, Emma, Sam, Jane and Clare. He is also survived by brothers Robert and Richard (Jody),sister Sandra, several nieces and cousins. A gentleman in all things, Al's spirit will be cherished by all those whose lives he touched. Services will be private.
