Aida Maria Melendez (nee Ruiz), 76, a resident of Severna Park, MD died on August 16, 2009 at Baltimore Washington Medical Center, due to complications from a stroke after a lengthy illness.
She was born on September 21, 1932 in Panama City, Panama, where she was raised. She lived in various places as wife of a Department of Defense employee.
Mrs. Melendez received her bachelor's degree in Nursing and Education. She was a retired nurse, loved to take care of her family, and loved to cook.
Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Manuel F. Melendez of Severna Park; two daughters, Marlene Y. Scott and Yvette Worgo, both of Severna Park, MD; one son, Manuel E. Melendez; and four grandchildren.
A Memorial Visitation will be on Saturday, August 29, 2009 from 10:00 AM- 11:00 AM at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home. A Memorial Service will follow the visitation at 11:00 AM.
