IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Agnes Marie
Klemens
September 28, 1940 – April 15, 2021
Agnes Marie Klemens of Severna Park, Maryland, passed away on April 15, 2021. She was 80 years old and surrounded by family during her final days. She was born in 1940 to Wilson and Dympna Duggan, orignally of County Tyrone, Ireland. Agnes was raised in Astoria, New York, with her older brother, John (deceased). Over the years, she lived in Long Island, NY; Watertown, MA; Glens Falls, NY; and Granville, NY, before settling in Severna Park, MD. Her focus was raising her family during the earlier years, and as her children matured, she spent many years with her Avon business, and then later retired from her position in the Human Resources Department with the Maryland State District Court. Her years with Avon were a perfect fit as Agnes was often described by many as a social butterfly. She had an ability to easily connect with and relate to people. In fact, Agnes lived in the Bendale Community of Severna Park for 46 years, and she was well-loved by neighbors from the 1970s to today.
Agnes enjoyed reading, cooking and baking, traveling with her family, and all aspects of her Irish culture. She loved to visit with family and friends often, and she was a phenomenal hostess. She was a faithful member of St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church. Back in the 1990s, she and her husband, Bill, enjoyed kicking up their heels as members of a square dancing group. In more recent years, she thoroughly enjoyed moving her feet with a group of women who exercised together as they developed strong friendships.
She is survived by her adoring husband of 60 years, William Klemens; her children and their spouses, Michael and Ruthann Klemens of Southport, NC, Monica and Paul Garvey of Franklin, TN, and Jennifer Klemens and Felix Lopez of Beltsville, MD; as well as her grandchildren Elizabeth Klemens, Rebecca Klemens, and Alassane Diagne.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, April 21, 2021 at 1:00 pm at St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, 689 Ritchie Highway, Severna Park, MD 21146. Interment will be at a later date at St. Charles Cemetery in Farmingdale, NY. The Mass will be livestreamed for those who cannot attend in person and can be viewed at 1:00pm on April 21, 2021 on the following link:
