Agnes Marie Carr passed away on November 27, 2024.
She was born on August 30, 1929 in New York City to James and Agnes Maher. She grew up in the Park Slope neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York. She attended St. Josephs College and New York University, where she earned her Master's degree. On February 14, 1953, she married the love of her life, Thomas Carr. She was employed as a Public Relations officer for the Computer/Technology company, Digital Equipment Corp, which later was acquired by Compaq and then Hewlett Packard.
Agnes was raised Catholic, and her faith was important to her throughout her life. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Rockville, MD and before that she was a member of St. Peter's of Alcantara in Port Washington, NY. She lived in Port Washington, NY and Rockville, MD before she moved to Severna Park, MD.
Agnes was singularly focused on her family; they meant the world to her. She always cared about making sure everyone was happy. She loved celebrating with family and friends, playing tennis, and was a huge lover of animals.
She is survived by her two sons, John and Jim Carr.
She will be inurned with her late husband Thomas Carr at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
