Adam Seborowski
Adam "John" Seborowski, 82, a resident of Arnold for 45 years, died of natural causes Dec. 18 at Anne Arundel Medical Center after a two-year illness.
Born July 22, 1924, and reared in Baltimore, Mr. Seborowski also lived in Key West, Fla., Charleston, S.C., and Norfolk, Va. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, having served aboard the USS Forest B. Royal and then the USS Purdy after the war. He was a flight instructor in Key West for HU7 helicopters from 1951 to 1956 and retired in November 1961 as a chief petty officer.
He worked briefly for Honeywell as an engineer and then joined the Department of Defense as a quality control inspector. He was a member of the Apollo Quality Reliability Team for the Apollo 11 lunar mission, and retired from the federal government in 1988.
He was a member of the Fleet Reserve Association and St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Severna Park. His interests included crabbing, boating activities and family time.
Surviving are his wife, Dorothy L. Zaczynski Seborowski, whom he married on Dec. 30, 1950; two sons, Richard Seborowski of Annapolis and David Seborowski of Charlotte, N.C.; and six grandchildren. He was the father of John R. Seborowski who died Sept. 4, 2002.
