Ronald Leslie Wilburn, 57, former Maryland resident, passed away at his home in Punta Gorda, Florida on October 22 2017.
Ron was born November 30 1959 to Eddie & Patricia Wilburn in Washington, DC. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps shortly after graduating from Parkdale Sr High School in 1978 in Riverdale Park, Maryland. Ron was a lead Maintenance technician at Southwest Airlines for 20 years.
Ron loved sports of all kinds (except baseball). Football was his favorite. A loyal Washington Redskins fan, Seinfeld fanatic, he loved his family & friends, his 2 dogs Lucy & Boosie, the outdoors, Harleys, Mexican food and Margaritas. He enjoyed life and didn't take it too seriously. Ron made people laugh wherever he went. He was a kind soul, loving and doting father, husband, Lolo, brother, son and Uncle. He will truly be missed by everyone.
Ron is survived by his wife, Rhea Wilburn; 5 children, Christine Coppage, Ronda Weitzel, Amanda Friedl, Zach Wilburn, and Zoie Wilburn, first wife, Josie Dupa Wilburn; Sisters, Bonnie Wilson, Tina Apperson, Vicki Boswell; Mother, Patricia Hazelton Hall. His 7 granddaughters, Sophia, Layla, Olivia, Mia, Alex, Elena, and one more granddaughter on the way. Ron is preceded in death by his father Eddie Wilburn; his son David & daughter Erin.
Family and friends may visit on Thursday, November 9, 2017 from 9 am to 11:30 am at the Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Hwy. A Memorial Service will be held in the funeral home chapel immediately following the visitation at 11:30 am. Interment will follow at the Maryland Veteran Cemetery in Crownsville, 1122 Sunrise Beach Rd.Visits: 5
