Doris E. Sulerzyski, 89, of Arnold, Maryland passed away peacefully on February 1, 2013 at the Tate Hospice House in Linthicum, Maryland.
She was born August 26, 1923 in Baltimore, raised in Arbutus and graduated from Seton High School. Married on September 7, 1946 to the late Peter P. Sulerzyski, she was a beloved mother to son, David J. Sulerzyski, of Severna Park, daughter, Denise E. Sulerzyski of Mechanicsville and Ellen D. Sulerzyski of Grasonville. She was a devoted mother-in-law to Victoria Z. Sulerzyski of Severna Park and a fun loving grandmother to Hope, Brooke and Abigail Sulerzyski.
Doris enjoyed traveling for many years with her husband during their marriage. With the unexpected death of her beloved husband, she raised her three children alone with the help and support of family and friends. She loved traveling with her children and spending time with her grandchildren particularly at their sporting events. She was employed by the Baltimore Gas and Electric Company among other firms. Doris was an avid Baltimore Orioles, Baltimore Ravens and Washington Wizards fan. She enjoyed walking and swimming, camping, visiting Ocean City, traveling the country to attend PGA events and loved spending time with extended family. A devoted member of St John’s the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church in Severna Park for over 50 years while residing in Arnold.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Peter, her parents Minnie and Frank Kallas Sr., and three brothers, Edward, Ellwood and Frank Kallas Jr.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, February 7, 2013 at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Hwy, Severna Park between 2:00 pm-4:00 pm and 6:00 pm- 8:00 pm with a prayer service at 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 8, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church in Severna Park, Maryland. Interment at Meadowridge Memorial Park in Elkridge, Maryland.
